Amber was born in London and spent some of her childhood in North Africa, speaking Swahili and Arabic as a child in Sudan and Egypt, before returning to London and full-time education.
She left Francis Holland School with a passion for acting and went to Cambridge University- where she studied Law in the day and rehearsed plays as diverse as "The Maids", "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" and "Hedda Gabler" in the evenings. Playing lead roles in all!
After Cambridge she went to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and weeks after leaving was offered a season at The RSC- which she turned down to concentrate on her passion for new writing. Setting up her own company, Cheeky Maggot Theatre, she has produced works at The Hampstead Theatre, The Soho Theatre and won festivals for New Writing.
The film world has embraced her unique looks and talent and 6 months out of RADA, she was appearing as a regular in ITV's "Murder City" working alongside Amanda Donohoe and Kris Marshall. In 2004 she completed the 2nd series of that, as well as appearing in "EastEnders", "Holby City" and a new feature film called "Song of Songs"
Her classical training has allowed her to play stage roles as challenging as Lady MacBeth, but also allowed her to indulge her passion for new writing. In 2004, she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of a Marilyn Monroesque cyber-babe in "Age-Sex-Location" with Ed Stoppard ("The Piano) and Ewen Macintosh ("The Office)
